Art Aficionado

SCOOP
Winter 2000

Perth-based artist Waldemar Kolbusz has become one of the hottest names on the lips of art luminaries around the country. Last year, Vogue Living dubbed him a “design aficionado” and, after photographing a piece, the features editor bought it for her own collection. Working out of a studio in North Perth, Waldemar’s paintings line the walls of the Duxton Hotel in Melbourne, Balthazaar Restaurant and Central Park. They also sit in offices and homes overseas, one bought for an up-market Manhattan apartment after an Internet viewing. Not bad for a former accountant who started painting as a form of “self-indulgence”.
